Although I did not post as often as I did last year, the NaNoWriMo was a priority this month. I reached 50,007 words this evening and claimed my place as a winner of the 2009 NaNoWriMo. I’m very proud of this accomplishment because I have an infant son now and I was able to get my words done while still taking care of him.
“The Hunted” turned out well but not as well as “The Three Brothers” which was my 2006 NaNoWriMo winner. It has a lot of potential and I think with some good input from my editors, it will be a nice little novel. I could even weave in some sequel material.

I’m right on track with my NaNoWriMo entry this year, “The Hunted.” I presently have 6,789 words written down and if I keep my present pace I will be completed right on November 30th.
I have updated “The Hunted” page I created for this year with a breif synopsis for the book. I will be putting the progress widget up as soon as they are working. Every year the NaNoWriMo website gets bogged down the first week. I’m impressed I was ablt to us it on day one.

It’s almost time for another NaNoWriMo. How did that happen? One moment I was trying to edit “The Three Brothers”, the next moment it’s time to write another novel.
I have to look through my “Binder O’ Ideas” and pick which one to do this year. I really have no idea at this point but I do know that it will be sck-fi or Fantasy and probably a bit Romancey, too.
With a new novel comes a new blog theme so I’ll to look for that as well. Maybe I’ll get some sketches done before Nov. 1st, who knows.

I have officially started the edit on “The Three Brothers”. Hopefully it wont take me long since the draft was very clean and almost publishable on it’s own. I’ll be posting the first chapter here but I do plan to seek publication for the novel so not more than the first chapter.
I still need to write a teaser blerb, like the kind that you would read on the back on the cover. I also wanted to try to draw the cover art, even if it doesn’t get used. I know exactly which scene I want on the cover.

I hit 50k words on Sunday and submitted my work to the site. It’s official, I won the NaNoWriMo. The draft needs a lot of work, it didn’t come out as clean as “The Three Brothers” did but it’s still workable.
Now that the NaNoWriMo is done, I’m going to take a break for a month. I have charity projects that I need to crochet anyway and I want to relax. In January, I’m going to start editing “The Three Brothers” and push to get it sent to at least one publisher before the baby arrives in June.
